by The Library of Congress

When someone has lost someone close to them, the ensuing days, months, and even years can be an incredibly challenging time. If you lost a loved one or know someone who has, creating a memorial garden will provide a constructive way to work through the grieving process. The memorial garden will then serve as a way to honor the life of the loved one for many years to come.

Your first step in planning a memorial garden should be to find the ideal location for the garden. Make sure that the area is a place where the grieving individual/s will want to visit. In addition, the garden should receive plenty of sunlight and should be close enough to a water source so that you are able to ensure that it thrives even during the dryer months.

Next, consider what types of plants or trees represent the life of the departed. If you are helping a grieving individual plant a memorial garden, consider purchasing a memorial gift tree that includes a personal message in the gift box.

Pine, spruce, or cedar trees are a great option since they maintain their foliage in winter.

Once plants and/or trees have been added to a memorial garden, it is important to add a comfortable bench or other type of seating so that friends and family of the departed can sit and reflect in the garden. Garden benches that have been inscribed with a poem or the departed individual’s name will make a beautiful addition to any memorial garden. Garden stones that have been inscribed with a meaningful poem are also great additions to memorial gardens. To add to the peaceful ambiance of the garden, consider hanging windchimes from a tree.

When choosing objects to add to a memorial garden, pick items that remind you of your loved one. The garden does not have to be created overnight. Take your time in finding statues, stones, or anything else that adds beauty to the garden and that invokes fond memories of the departed.

A memorial garden gives friends and family the chance to demonstrate their love for a departed individual on a regular basis. Most people find that maintaining a garden offers solace and relaxation. When a grieving person is given the opportunity to continue to do something after their loved one has passed on, they are able to more effectively work through the grieving process and to find a greater amount of comfort.

The gifts provided by The Comfort Company offer sympathy messages as well as hope for healing hearts.

Article by Victor Epand

Your children grow up fast and you will feel in time that they some times grow up way too fast. The early weeks and months of a baby’s life are a steady parade of milestones and so much so that it is some times hard to keep up with the exact details as each one comes along.

Especially, for new parents simply caring and feeding for the new baby can absorb all their energy, and leaving no time or creative energy to double back and carefully keep records of the baby’s first words, first tooth, first lock of hair, and many more other important first occasions. The baby memory book is a specially designed album that is like a cross between a record book, a scrapbook, and a photo album that has tables, pockets, and places to make a permanent record of a child’s first early milestones.

More finer baby memory books arrive already well organized and are for the most part are self explanatory so that the time spent decorating them can be largely devoted to expressing your own creativity. As you create the baby memory album, then the book essentially walks you through the steps necessary. You can fill in all the important details and add custom trim that is provided by the book itself or from other scrap booking materials.

Many baby memory books will organize themselves chronologically, while creating a time line of the baby’s achievements and milestones that unfurl as the child grows older. Memory books often extend well into child hood and my reach ages as high as seven or ten years old, and will include such child hood items as report cards, sporting trophies, essays, test results, and many others. Some other memory books are centered around the type of event itself such as physical developments, achievements in speech and communication, special celebrations, and first accomplishments.

The choice of organization is largely up to the individual user’s own tastes and own expectations, because there is no right or wrong answer. A great way to decorate, as mentioned above, is through the use of scrap booking materials. In recent years, the hobby of scrap booking has been enjoyed tremendous with increasing growth. Browsing the aisles of many hobby stores such as Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, and A.C. Moore, then you will often find entire rows of decorative scrap book elements, from specialty paper to decals and appliques to fit almost any taste or decor.

Of course, many baby memory books will come complete with decorative elements, but you may still wish to embellish them with custom decals and accents of your own choosing. Especially, if your memory book extends past the toddler years and into child hood, then you may find yourself wanting extra decorations.

Some, but certainly not all, common memory book topics include the baby shower, first records, physical records, holidays, celebration, and special occasions. As a final thought, you might also want to consider organizing your baby memory book around some part of the event or the child itself you want to celebrate.

A funeral booklet is an extended version of a funeral program which is offered at a funeral or memorial service. Often the bereaved family members want to give all attendees a memorial keepsake and a creative funeral booklet is an excellent way to stress a loved one’s life in greater detail.

A funeral booklet can contain the funeral order of service, a eulogy of the deceased, funeral poems, bible scripture verses, song or hymn lyrics, photos of the deceased with family, and a special note from the bereaved family to all supporters and attendees.

Creating a funeral booklet is not difficult if you start with the right tools. Usually people who have recently lost a loved one are busy tending to all the preparations of the funeral service and may not always have the time or resources to create such an elaborate booklet.

The best way to produce a creative funeral booklet design is to purchase a pre-designed template.

These templates will have the foundation of the design already created and all you will need to do is add in the text and photos. A real time saver for those who are short of time. It is also budget friendly because you can print it yourself on a home printer or take it to an economy printing store.

The best way to create a booklet is to look for funeral program templates that are bi-fold and letter size. Using the letter size format is easier to create booklets simply by folding them in half. It is also easy to get a heavier weight paper in this size. Templates will come with a front, back cover design and one interior page. To make a booklet, just duplicate the interior page as many times as you need to.

Print each page front and back and when all the pages are printed, get the pages in order and fold them in half. You may want to consider placing two staples in the booklet to keep the pages together and provide a neater presentation.

Your funeral booklet will be a keepsake that is kept for a long time. It is also a great way to highlight a loved one’s life from beginning to end, if desired.

For a great resource of funeral and memorial booklets, visit The Funeral Program Site where you will find a wealth of information that can assist you in the details of the funeral or memorial service. This website offers beautiful funeral programs that highlight your loved one’s life, obituary help, poems, readings, and scripture verses.

Castle of Gibralfaro:

This castle has a splendid building, constructed at the beginning of 14th century and in the era of Yusuf 1. The Castle of Gibralfaro stands on the residual of a site which belonged to Phoenician rule over this place.

This castle has its history when the people of Malaga, in opposition to Catholic sovereigns, Isabella and Ferdinand blocked it for 3 months. This siege ended when the people surrendered because of hunger and Ferdinand took over the castle and the queen used this castle as her residence. The castle does not exist in all of its original shape, but it still has solid walls, which rise majestically between the dense eucalyptus and pinewoods.

Fortress La Alcazaba:

La Alcazaba is a fortress built in the year1040, on a mountain which dominates the town.

This fortress is the biggest building left in Spain that Arab rulers used for military reasons. The fortress has towers in rectangular shape and walls with double circling. It is a beautiful and historical place to visit in Alcazabilla.

Beautiful columns decorate the entrance gates of the fortress and Roman Alphabets are written along the walkways of the monument.

Christ Arch is the place in fortress, where people celebrated the Christian victory over town with a first mass and when you cross this Arch, you will enter into the Arabian gardens, which are wonderful and filled with honeysuckle, bougainvillea and jasmine flowers. If you look down from the peak of the fortress, you come across amazing scenes of the port and town.

The Roman theatre and the Archeological Museum in the town are worth watching.

Malaga Cathedral:

The construction of this castle took place between the 16th century and 18th century and the style of construction is a mixture of different civilizations, while dominating the Renaissance designs. The facades and covering of the castle are Baroque, while the Gothic style is dominant in the lower parts of the castle.

On the outside of the castle, there are 3 doors, decorated in variety of colors, with the name of the villa rental spain castle written on the center door. The inner side of the castle is wonderful, with a great hall and chapels. The work on the side chapels is very interesting, as you will see a charming weeping mother. Pedro Mena did this work of art.. Chapel of Ste-Barbe and Norte Rois are also must watch places in the castle.

Virtual Memory

Virtual memory is used to supplement the amount of physical memory you have on your computer. For example, if your computer doesn’t have enough physical RAM to run a program or task Windows XP or Windows Vista will use the virtual memory to compensate. The operating system takes your available RAM and combines it with temporary space set aside on your hard disk drive. When you are running low on memory, the data will be moved from RAM and onto a “paging file”. This frees up physical memory and allows you to continue your operations.

The more RAM you have, the faster your computer performs. While it’s tempting to make your virtual memory larger in order to get improved performance, it’s not always the right move. For example, your computer reads data from physical RAM much faster than it can read data from virtual memory. If your PC is slow due to lack of RAM, adding physical memory usually yields the best results.

Virtual memory errors occasionally occur. Typically, you might see a low virtual memory error. For example:

Limited Virtual Memory – Your system is running without a properly sized paging file. Use the virtual memory option of the System applet in the Control Panel to create a paging file, or to increase the initial size of your paging file.

To overcome this, you can create a new paging file (if yours is missing) or manually adjust the size of your virtual memory if you find the default size isn’t enough.

Windows automatically sets the minimum paging file size to the total amount of your RAM plus 300 MB. In addition, the default maximum size that Windows will allow is three times the amount of RAM. If you are encountering low virtual memory errors at these defaults, you’ll want to tweak these settings.

Go to the Start button, choose Control Panel, click either the Advanced tab(XP) or the Advanced System Settings link (Vista), choose Performance, Settings, Advanced, and find Virtual Memory. Click on the Change button to make adjustments.

Windows always uses virtual memory, even when the demands on the physical memory are low. A good rule of thumb when setting the page file size is 1.5 times the amount of physical memory. For example, if you have 2 gigabytes of RAM installed on your PC, a paging file size of 3 gigabytes should be an appropriate place to start providing you have the hard drive space to accommodate this amount.

When your hard drive starts to get full, you’ll often find yourself with a variety of memory-related errors including virtual memory errors. Clear out your temporary files and defragment your hard disk to free up space on your hard drive. If your hard drive is nearing capacity, it may be time to upgrade. In the meantime, you may want to adjust the maximum paging file size downwards until you find a compromise you can live with.

Article by Renee Wood

The grieving that follows the death of a loved one can be very painful. Everyone copes and finds ways to move through the grieving process in different ways. Emotional support from family, friends, and therapists can be invaluable to healing from a great loss. While it is healthy to continue on with your life, many grieving individuals also find that it is important to keep the memory of their loved one alive. This can be done in many ways.

These days, many people are choosing to remember someone special in their life with a garden bench that has been engraved with, “In loving memory of (deceased person’s name),” or any other words that keep that person’s memory alive.

Memorial benches can be placed in private or public spaces. If you have a garden or a backyard space where you like to sit often, a garden bench dedicated to your loved one can be placed in that area. Many people also choose to put their memorial bench in a public space so that a greater number of people–families, friends, coworkers, and others–can sit and reflect on the deceased person’s life.

Memorial benches can be made of a variety of materials. Those made of wood can have a plaque attached with the deceased individual’s name and other words of your choice. If you would like a bench that lasts for many decades, a stone cast concrete bench that is designed to have the beautiful look of real stone offers a durable solution. A benefit of stone cast concrete benches is that they can include longer engravings such as a special poem or quote that means something to you.

If you do opt for a bench with a poem or quote, you will have endless options. Choose a poem by a poet that your loved one admired. You will also find memorial benches that already include engravings such as, “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.”

If you choose to place a memorial bench in your garden, you are likely to find that tending to your garden becomes a healing process and the memorial bench helps to keep the memory of your loved one alive. The area will become your space for finding solace whenever you need it most, and will offer others a space to remember the special person that you shared your lives with.
